Good morning from a random but mostly empty lounge in Frankfurt Airport where I'm about a third of the way into the first of my six hour layovers. I'm always nervous starting a Friday puzzle when I'm sleep deprived and more so when the first clue is something like "Suzanne Somers's role in 'Three's Company.'" It's CHRISSY, as it turns out, and I'm sure that's an easy clue for many, but it is way out of my wheelhouse. I stayed nervous until I came to "2001 Destiny's Child #1 hit with the lyric 'I don't think you ready for this jelly" and now I'm just singing BOOTYLICIOUS to myself in this lounge. Follow that up with "Figures in the Edda" and I'm able to put in NORSE [something] anyway; DEITIES was clear once I had a couple more letters.
Just reading RESCUE DOG and I miss my big puppy already.
TRUST FUND BABY is another fun answer, which I guess you can't clue with the Aaron Burr line from Hamilton "I'm a_____, you can trust me" since it repeats the word "trust." But it's such a fun line.
I enjoyed the clue "Store that really should have a spokesperson" for BIKE SHOP, even if I couldn't stop thinking about having to buy new axles in Oregon Trail. Really, there are all kinds of fun answers in this puzzle with HONEY POT and REDDITOR, which were much more on my level and made sure the NW fell easily for me.
I learned that MT DANA marks the eastern boundary of Yosemite and that "Six-time All-Star Ron" CEY is yet another crosswordy baseball player who is just before my time.
I'm still nervous about my next flight because I don't technically have a boarding pass yet, so I'm unlikely to get that EXIT ROW seat (I don't actually like them much) or maybe even a seat at all! Well, YEAH SURE, there are worse places than Frankfurt to be stuck.

You sure are taking the long route - hope you are continuing on your way now and that you will have a couple of days to sleep when you get there. I’m going to have to wait for Emily to help me finish your puzzle!
